AUDIENCE REVIEWS

“I loved it!

A beautiful musical journey, stunningly portrayed.”

“ I had a wonderful afternoon at The Tabard Theatre in London seeing The Ballad Of Buckingham Nicks, starring Wendy Morgan and Julian Littman, as Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac. A compelling story of love and despair, musically punctuated with some of their best songs, performed beautifully and skillfully by them both. A touching and moving show chronicling the Nicks/Buckingham relationship through the years both before and during their time together with Fleetwood Mac. Very highly recommended.” Alan Cohen.

“A wonderfully crafted relationship story with

fabulous music. Beautifully performed.”

“A touching tribute that brings you closer to this infamous duo”

“Wendy Morgan and Julian Littman excel in this beautifully crafted two-hander exploring the highs and lows of two music icons.”

“The show is a beautiful tale of young love told through old, slightly jaded eyes. Morgan’s Nicks may have gained a brittle, protective shell, but she still displays a sweet innocent naiveté that is at the heart of both her music and her life. Littman’s Buckingham seems more regretful – though whether that’s of what he did with his freewheeling rock and roll life or that this period is over is open to interpretation. Both actors bring a sweetness to their reflections. Equal parts regretful and proud – a sign of lives well – if not always sensibly – lived.”

PRESS RELEASE – WENDY MORGAN (Producer/Writer)

Q: Your fascination with Stevie Nicks began during lockdown. Can you tell us more about the play you were in and how it sparked your deep dive into her music and story?

Wendy: During lockdown, I played a character in a play with music that was based on Stevie Nicks. This role led to me researching Stevie’s life and music, and my fascination grew to include Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac as a whole. I was so taken with their story that the interest lasted long after the play finished.

Q: Did you have a wish to have been “there” during that era? How did that feeling of wishing you’d been a part of their story lead you to develop “The Ballad of Buckingham Nicks”?”

Wendy: The powerful and emotive relationship between Stevie and Lindsey really captured my imagination. My wish to have experienced that era and the feeling that their story would make a great performance piece led me to write “The Ballad of Buckingham Nicks.”

Q: You’ve had the chance to see Stevie Nicks perform live recently. What was that experience like for you, especially given your long-standing admiration for her?

Wendy: I was lucky enough to see Stevie Nicks in concert in LA and London recently. It was an amazing experience; she was astoundingly fabulous. I’ve also spent hours watching footage of her performances.

Q: You’ve expressed a wish to see Lindsey Buckingham live. What is it about his music and performances that you hope to one day experience in person?

Wendy: While I’ve seen Stevie Nicks live, I’ve sadly not had the pleasure of seeing Lindsey Buckingham perform in person. I wish I could, and I hope to in the future.

Q: With a project like this, it must be so important to have the right people involved. How did Julian Littman and Kevin McNally come to be a part of this and what do they bring to the project?

Wendy: I feel so fortunate to have the amazing talents of Julian Littman and Kevin McNally on board. Julian and I will be playing Lindsey and Stevie, respectively, which I acknowledge is not an easy task. We are thrilled Kevin has come on board to direct.

Q: Looking at the project as a whole, what is your ultimate hope for “The Ballad of Buckingham Nicks”?

Wendy: My hope is that “The Ballad of Buckingham Nicks” will be a loving portrait of these much-loved artists. I also believe there is a definite audience for a piece that explores their lives and features their music.
